Norene passed away peacefully at 6:45 this evening, surrounded by her family. She had a chance to say a few words to John earlier today. We will let you know funeral arrangements when they are made.

  4. We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Norene.
We are so grateful for the chance all of you were able to say your goodbyes. We pray that the comforter will help you feel peace during this beginning stage of separation. What a great daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, cousin, and friend she will be remembered as.

  7. Listening to Conference this morning I can help but think of you all. I am so sad. The only think that has made me feel better is knowing that the Southwick family understand our Lords great plan. Please know how much our family loves you all.

  8. Norene has always been a example of optimism to me. It always seemed like she was enjoying life. I can still hear her laughter. As a younger cousin, I always looked up to her and admired her. I still do. The message of hope and peace shared several times in the conference talks today were a balm to my soul and I hope that these words eased your sadness and loss just a little. We continue to pray for each of you. We love you.

  9. My prayers are with your family as you mourn the loss of Norene. She will leave a great loss for all of us. What a wonderful women she is. I admire her so much. What a gift she had to lead and teach others. She was so talented with music, something that I also wished I could do better. I loved the conference talks today by Pres Eyring talking about the great trial of losing a spouse or loved one and how to find peace. Also, Elder Scott's talk about how his wife died 14 years ago and how he asked what he needed to learn from the experience. I will miss Norene so much. She was such a great cousin to me. I know that I have learned much by knowing her and following her example. Love Julie Ahlstrom
